Minter Ellison Rudd Watts supporting Chile relief

3 March 2010

Minter Ellison Rudd Watts, a law firm with a strong Latin American connection and a Latin American area of practice, wants to express its sympathy and support to the people of Chile who have suffered a recent tragedy. Chile has been hit by one of the strongest earthquakes in history over the weekend.

Magnitude 8.8 not only means that some big cities are in ruins but also means that people are devastated: more than 2 million people have lost their homes, there is no water or electricity in the cities close to the epicentre, and the death toll keeps raising. The above is despite the fact that Chile is a member of the OECD and has a very high standard of building engineering… just like New Zealand.  This is shaping up as a major humanitarian disaster. Our thoughts are with all of those who have been affected.

We have started an appeal to raise money to assist with the relief on the ground. Minter Ellison Rudd Watts will make a donation. If you want to donate please visit this link

Many thanks in advance for your support.
